Day 1-Airport/ Colombo

Meet and greet on arrival by our representative and transfer to Colombo. Check in at hotel. In the afternoon proceed to a City Tour of Colombo. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2-Colombo/ Polonnaruwa/ Sigiriya

Following breakfast, journey to Polonnaruwa – the second capital of Sri Lanka in the 11th and 12th centuries, and visit the Lankatilleke Vihare, Thuparama Dagoba and Gal Vihare. Proceed to Sigiriya.

Day 3- Sigiriya/ Aunuradhpaura/ Sigiriya

After the breakfast, leave for Anuradhapura; first capital of Sri Lanka. Here you will see the remains of the Brazen Palace (which was once nine storey high) and the Sri Maha Bodhi ; a Bo Tree over 2,000 years old, grown from the branch of the very tree beneath which the Buddha attained enlightenment. Visit the ruins of the Ruwanweliseya Dagaba. See the 2nd Century BC shrine containing the Buddha’s collarbone relic, the Abhayagiriya Temple and the Jetawanaramaya Dagobas. Afterwards, view the Kuttam Pokuna or twin ponds and the Samadhi Buddha ;a statue of the Buddha in a meditative pose which is being acknowledged worldwide as a masterpiece.

Day 4- Sigiriya/ Dambulla/ Kandy

After breakfast at hotel, enjoy a climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress where you will find the remains of the Palace and its environs. En-route to Kandy, explore the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple followed by a stop at the Spice Garden in Matale. Check in at the hotel upon arrival at Kandy. In the afternoon visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and watch a Kandyan Cultural Dance performance.

Day 5- Kandy/ Pinnawela/ Kandy

Breakfast at hotel. Leave on a sightseeing tour of Kandy including the Upper Lake Drive. Visit the Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawela and then visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

Day 6- Kandy/ Nuwara Eliya

Enjoy our breakfast and then leave for Nuwara Eliya. En-route, visit a tea factory and tea plantation where you can catch a glimpse of women plucking the tea leaves or ‘Green Gold’. Arrive at Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little England’, for a late afternoon tour.

Day 7- Nuwara Eliya/ Yala

This morning, depart for Yala after breakfast. In the afternoon, enjoy a trip to the Yala National Park or Bundala Wildlife Park. See a vast array of animals including deer, peacock, elephant, wild buffalo and catch sight of a leopard or bear if you are lucky enough. Check in at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8- Yala/ Galle/ Colombo

After breakfast, visit the Galle Dutch Fort. Return to Colombo; or transfer to Airport; or drop off at a Beach Extension Hotel of your choice.
